Kristinn Thórisson, a professor of Reykjavik University and Founder and Director of the Icelandic Institute for Intelligent Machines (IIIM), claims that the current approach to AI will never lead to real machine intelligence. He forecasts that over the next 3 decades, artificial neural networks will be replaced with approaches that closely mimic real intelligence.
