While urbanization has boosted the economic growth of cities, it has also left them with negative side effects, namely congestion and air pollution. These challenges have pushed city authorities to rethink their mobility ecosystems. Forerunners of this change are Finnish companies, which are heavily investing in new mobility solutions. One of such examples is mobility as a service (MaaS), which allows users to book, pay and follow the progression of the travel chain. Finland is a leader in MaaS services, aiming for ‘the seamless and efficient flow of information, goods and people’.
